THE CHALLENGE
**J. Cain & Co.** managed an initiative to acquire new servers due to a change in their mission-critical infrastructure. Solusoft offered them the cloud computing alternative on Amazon Web Services (AWS) because it was a unique and different option that exceeded all their requirements and expectations.
THE SOLUTION
Solusoft proposed the use of platform-as-a-service technologies from Amazon RDS for Oracle to deploy database instances and achieve significant savings in Oracle Database licensing support.
The virtual machines managed on the VMware platform were also migrated to run as instances on Amazon EC2, using CloudEndure and AWS SMS replication technologies.
Connectivity was established for the use of a point-to-point VPN between J. Cain & Co. and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, for the secure availability of their most critical web executive applications, Amazon Worklink was enabled.
